Madison Cunningham

Originally from Los Angeles, four-time GRAMMY nominee Madison Cunningham feels a deep connection to Nashville and its historic songwriting lineage. You could say it’s her compass. Watching her father play guitar directly inspired her to pick up her own instrument and “put her own headlamp on” in search of her own sound. “If I’m not playing music that I love and believe in and actually enjoy hearing night after night, then I don’t know if it’s worth it.”

On this episode of Sounds of the Road, presented by Toyota and SiriusXM, Madison grabs her morning coffee at Bongo Java in East Nashville before setting off to browse some threads at Anaconda Vintage. Her final stop: Grimey’s Records, where she performs “Hospital” and “In From Japan,” both songs off her new album, Revealer.

Welcome to Nashville! Season 2 of Sounds of the Road features Madison Cunningham, Devon Gilfillian and trio The Lone Bellow exploring Music City in new Toyota vehicles, stopping at iconic spots across the city to perform intimate live sessions and talk about their connection to music and life on the road.
