Located next to Sharky’s on the Pier—a Venice staple since 1987—Fins at Sharky’s opened its doors in December 2013, and Executive Chef Marc Alton has been in the kitchen since day one. After spending two decades at the original Sharky’s, Alton brought his Louisiana flair to the 182-seat dining room at Fins, serving up gourmet dishes like grilled Spanish octopus, whole Gulf snapper, his signature Oysters Rockefeller, and a serious selection of angus prime steaks and chops, prepared in the restaurant’s charcoal Josper Oven. “I try to meld together the Florida cuisine and Louisiana flavors. Southern Caribbean is where I go on my menu.” Fins at Sharky’s even boasts a formidable sushi offering and a kid’s menu “made for the young foodie,” including a steak, pineapple and tomato skewer.
