Swimming With Giants in Tahiti

In Moorea, we met up with world-renowned conservationists, the Coral Gardeners, to plant coral and learn about their mission to save the ocean’s reef. We also swam with an adult humpback whale and her calf in the open ocean. From there we traveled to Tikehau, dubbed the fishiest atoll in the world, where we were introduced to local spear fisherman and free diver Denis Grosmaire, who taught us how to spearfish and cook our catch. The next day, Denis took us swimming with tiger sharks with no cage—an adrenaline rush like no other. We closed out our journey with a stay at the luxurious Conrad Bora Bora, where we were treated to some much needed rest and relaxation in our own personal overwater bungalows.
